Dr Julianne Livingston, Clinical Psychologist
Visiting this site is already a positive move - finding quality support for your mental health and wellbeing is important. I'm here to help.
As a clinical psychologist with experience across private practice, public health services, hospital, and university settings, I offer adults therapy for a range of mental health conditions, emotional issues, and life challenges. This includes:
- anxiety & worry
- low mood and depression
- low self-esteem and low confidence
- insomnia
- intrusive thoughts and compulsive coping behaviours, often referred to as OCD symptoms
- healing from trauma and past experiences.
What to Expect
Using a non-judgemental and compassionate approach, we can work together to:
- build a shared understanding of your difficulties, strengths, and what you are wanting to get out of therapy
- this might involve deepening insight, learning new skills, making positive changes, and could include healing from your past
- foster your personal growth and resilience.
I offer evidence-based therapies tailored to your needs including:
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) skills
- Schema Therapy
- Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy.
Psychology Supervision
I'm also a Board-approved supervisor who really enjoys supporting provisional and fully registered psychologists in their practice.
Through supportive supervision, I offer a space where you can work through challenges, sharpen your clinical skills, and grow your confidence.
Interested in working together? I'd love to hear from you!

Starting Your Therapy Journey
With a GP Referral and Mental Health Treatment Plan:
- you can access up to 10 Medicare-rebated sessions per calendar year.
- the referral must be dated and signed by your GP
- send me your GP referral and plan before your first appointment
Good to know:
- Referral can be to me, another psychologist, or just "Psychologist"
- After you've used all the sessions on your initial GP referral (usually 6 sessions), you'll need to obtain a GP re-referral to access further Medicare rebates (up to 10 a year).
Psychiatrists can also refer you through a referral letter.
Self-referral: You're welcome to reach out to me directly! However you won't be able to claim Medicare rebates without a doctor's referral.
Using Private Health Insurance?
- First, check your policy's psychology coverage and claiming process
- Let me know if you're using private insurance
- You'll claim rebates directly from your insurer after receiving a receipt from me
- You can't claim both Medicare and private health rebates for the same session
Fees & Medicare Rebates
Session Fee: $260 for 50 minute session (plus payment processor fee: 1.9% + $1)
Medicare Rebate: $141.85 per session, with a valid GP referral.
Your out-of-pocket cost: $118.15 per session
I can lodge your Medicare claim for you for easy reimbursement!
Cancellation Policy
I value your time and mine. Please read my cancellation policy carefully:
- More than 2 business days' notice: No charge
- Less than 2 business days' notice: Full session fee.
Important Notes:
- Business hours: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm
- Weekends and public holidays don't count towards notice periods
- Cancellation fees are not eligible for Medicare or private health rebates
- Good news: If I am able to fill your cancelled appointment, I'll waive the cancellation fee for you.
This policy helps serve everyone fairly while being flexible where possible. Thank you for understanding.
